Google Blocks Thousands of WordPress Sites Infected By SoakSoak Malware





Google has blocked over 11,000 websites from its computer program that are stricken by the recent WordPress malware. The SoakSoak malware, discovered by security firm Sucuri, may have compromised over a hundred,000 sites running WordPress, same Sucuri via journal post.


According to a report from The Guardian, the flaw was discovered within the RevSlider third party plug-in, within which the attackers load a Javascript malware from the soaksoak.ru domain.


“The biggest issue is that the RevSlider plugin could be a premium plugin, it’s not one thing everybody will simply upgrade which in itself becomes a disaster for web site owner,” explicit Sucuri. “Some web site homeowners don’t even grasp they need it as it’s been packaged and bundled into their themes. We’re presently remediating thousands of web sites and once partaking with our shoppers several had no plan the plugin was even at intervals their atmosphere.”


CBROnline reported that the manufacturers of the RevSlider, ThemePunch, discovered the flaw in February, noting that over twenty nine security fixes are free from February through September.
